Public Records Request

All requests for any public record must be made in writing to the Chief of Staff / PIO, 701 Murray Street, 3rd Floor, Alexandria, LA by hand delivery to the aforementioned address, US Mail at 701 Murray Street, Suite 301, Alexandria LA, 71301 or by email at tcarnline@rpso.la.gov.  Payment must be made by cashier's check or money order only.

UNDER LA RS 44:35, THE PUBLIC ENTITY HAS FIVE (5) DAYS INWHICH TO RESPOND TO THE REQUEST, EXCLUDING SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.

The Criminal Records Section houses all criminal and traffic reports that are prepared by the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office. Criminal Records is a part of the Criminal Investigation Division. Copies of Initial Criminal Reports as well as Traffic Reports are available by request. Requests can be submitted in writing or in person. We provide local criminal background checks for job applicants and employers. We also fingerprint Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 to 3:30.

Please take note of our new fee schedule effective January 15th, 2023:

Background Checks- $5.00
Fingerprints- $10.00 per card

Incident / Case Report - $10.00 for initial report/page, $1.00 per page printed or electronic
Incident / Case Reports (certified)- $15.00 for initial report / page, $1.00 per page printed or electronic
Traffic Reports- $10.00
Case Photos- $7.50 each

Photo / Data CD's / Audio Drives - $25

Body/Vehicle Camera (non-redacted) - $30

Body / Vehicle Camera (redacted) - $35/HOUR to complete redactions
